Sink connection
The point where the inlet hose meets your water valve can drip outside the protected zone.
Miele dishwashers are often hidden behind custom cabinet panels in some of Kirkland's finest kitchens. Their Waterproof System is built to stop floods, and it often does. But when water reaches the base tray, or leaks at the sink connection, it can still find its way under panels and into cabinets and floors you cannot easily see. Our emergency Miele leak cleanup team answers 24 hours a day, comes the same day across Kirkland, WA, and dries your kitchen with care.

F70 generally means the Waterproof System has been activated: water collected in the base tray and a float switch stopped the machine. Water got there from a leak inside the unit or from heavy sudsing. It should be checked by a qualified technician. Meanwhile, a slow leak may have started before the float tripped, so it is worth checking the floor and cabinets around the dishwasher. See our hidden leak detection service.

The drain hose at the sink or disposal can loosen and leak into the sink cabinet.
Internal leaks collect here and trigger F70.
Too much or the wrong detergent can foam into the base.
Worn seals can let water past at the front.
Water that escapes can run behind the decorative panel unseen.
Custom cabinetry, stone counters and wide-plank floors need a different touch than a basic kitchen. Our goal is to dry thoroughly while removing as little as possible.
Thermal imaging and moisture meters show exactly where water went. We only remove what must come out, often just a toe kick.
Fine woods crack if dried too fast. We use controlled airflow and dehumidification, and check readings daily.
Wood floors near the dishwasher get specialty drying mats. See hardwood floor drying.
Swollen bases or delaminated panels are rebuilt through our reconstruction team, working to match your cabinet maker's finish.

It generally means the Waterproof System was activated because water collected in the base tray. Have a qualified technician find and fix the cause.
It can. Leaks at the sink connection or drain hose, or a slow leak before the float trips, can reach cabinets and floors.
We do not recommend it. Tipping an installed dishwasher can damage cabinets, counters and connections. Let a technician handle it.
Not when done carefully. We use controlled drying and monitor daily so wood does not crack or warp.
Sudden water damage is often covered by homeowners insurance. Appliance repair usually is not. We document the damage for your claim.
No. We handle water damage only. A Miele-trained technician repairs the dishwasher.
